Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteru 13

Story 13: Irony of Fate

Story 14: Bound by Contract

As Reiga enters, his ice heals the twin Opasts. A shocked Yuki continues to look on at his dearest friend, who now stands before him as his enemy, Reiga. The fact that Kanata betrayed him comes as too harsh of a reality for Yuki. Reiga unleashes Fenrir, ice wolves, to separate Luka and Yuki, while the twin Opasts duel it out with Hotsuma and Shuusei. When a direct attack on Yuki seem inevitable, Takashiro enters and takes the attack. However, this does little damage as his body begins to regenerate. Luka defeats the wolves as Takashiro and Reiga begin their battle.

Using their books, Takashiro and Reiga summon Nidhogg and Vouivre, respectively. The two dragons battle it out in the sky, as the respective summoner receives damage. Meanwhile, Shusei traps the twins, and Hotsuma finishes them. In the end, Takashiro’s dragon defeats Reiga, whose power has yet to fully awaken. Yuki’s scream stops Takashiro from landing a finishing blow and Kanata escapes. As he leaves, Yuki questions whether things could have been different if he had went with Kanata. When Yuki first met Kanata, on that snowy day, the sky was full of laughter.

Though we finally get a battle with Reiga, the episode was pretty dialogue heavy, with both Yuki and Takashiro reminiscing. Yuki pretty much stood in the same spot for the episode, with his disbelief that Kanata is the enemy. The CG dragons actually worked with the animation’s regular style, the ice background helped with that. Looks like next week, we’re back at the Twilight Mansion. Big Sodom looks furry…

  1. Nice review. Can’t wait for next episode.
